I am extremely concerned about the plan to consolidate Ontario's conservation authorities. The conversations authorities in Ontario are the envy of many other provinces, as they are split by watershed and allow for appropriate and careful review of projects to ensure effects on the watershed are appropriately mitigated. As we continue to go through more climate change impacts, conserving the green spaces we have left is essential!
As medical student, I know how important green space and healthy environments are to our health. There are many stories of how environmental pollutants can have adverse impacts and strong conservation authorities are key to protecting this.
I strong urge the government to reconsider their approach.
