I think the plan to consolidate the regions will lower the protection of our watersheds and conservation areas. The government should be increasing funding for local control and governance of these important public spaces. I have no confidence that the provincial government will protect these lands and waterways. I think ERCA does a tremendous job for the City of Windsor and the County of Essex and do not believe that bureaucratic interference in their work is necessary or desirable. This government does not respect its obligations to protect the natural environment and its practices have not been found to be fair, transparent and accountable. This consultation process is a sham. We deserve better governance.
