The Ford government wants to amalgamate the agencies into 7 Regional Conservation Authorities and centralize their decision-making — apparently as an effort to speed up development.
We need strong, well-supported Conservation Authorities to protect our watersheds, drinking water, natural areas, and communities. Weakening them under the banner of “efficiency” is a step backward for environmental and public health.
I am NOT in favour of amalgamating 32 CAs into 7 CAs.
