My first comment was not approved but it is hard to believe that Toronto - a city I have lived and cycled in my whole life is now moving away from safe cycling. Prioritizing cars is not what Torontonians want and Doug Ford himself commented how safe he felt with bike lanes. All the evidence included in the law suit showed how much safer bike lanes are. Cars are not the future. We need to understand this for our children and grandchildren. I have bicycled my whole life and as the cars/vehicles get bigger it gets more unsafe and we need bike lanes more than ever. I bicycle for my health, for speed and for enjoyment. I take public transportation when I can. I even have a car but I do not drive downtown. I realize there are many people who want to drive into the city but am not sure why they are the priority? One person in a huge F150 has more rights than me on my bike? Please do not pass this legislation - please respect people who cycle as much as those who drive. Please recognize that transportation by car is not viable in cities. Please save lives and our planet. Please.
