I use my car, my bicycle and public transportation. On my car I am more relaxed when bicycles are on their lane and I do not have to worry about keeping my distance from them.
On my bicycle I feel safer knowing the cars will not enter the bicycle lane.
The best way to reduce traffic congestion is improve public transit so that more of us can leave our cars at home.
