As a Canadian citizen and a resident of Toronto, Ontario I would like to comment on the negative impact Bill 60 will have on safety. This Bill is another attempt via rhetoric which ignores scientific data, to push an agenda to refuse or block, public road infrastructure that will improve safety for all citizens - even those not in private cars. Specifically, vulnerable road users including pedestrians and bicycles which do not slow traffic. Bicycle lanes actually improve flow and more importantly keep all road users separate and safe when they do meet. Latent demand or new roads including highways create more traffic and more demand in a never-ending 19th century loop. Build Faster infrastructure that supports all citizens and supports climate goals. Public transit and bicycle lanes are the way of the future. I do not support this Bill and recommend MP's vote with the safety in mind.
