This bill and the Ford government's ongoing war against bicycle infrastructure is egregious. It continues to directly contradict evidence-based means of improving efficient and effective transportation, and completely oversteps the ability of specific municipalities to make the best choices for their own populations. Furthermore, sabotaging bicycling infrastructure disadvantages people who choose to cycle for health, affordability, or environmental reasons, in direct contradiction to the importance of improving the physical health of a largely sedentary Ontario population, addressing crises related to affordability and a rising cost of living, and our rapidly escalating climate crisis. As a resident of Ontario I am vehemently opposed to this bill and see no benefit at all for it passing.
