I am a proud Ontarian who STRONGLY OPPOSES BILL 60. This Bill threatens housing stability by fast-tracking evictions and weakening tenant protections, making easier for landlords to raise rents, and severely limiting the rights to appeal. I have been renting since I moved out of my childhood home and I cannot afford to continue living in Ontario under these proposed measures.
Further, I rely on public transit, biking, and walking to get around, and this Bill is a direct threat to my ways of movement. I strongly urge the province to BACK OFF and let cities and municipalities do THEIR JOB. It is frankly disgusting that the province claims this legislation will "Fight Delays and Build Faster" when all it will do is expedite the housing crisis, jeopardize public transportation, and make Ontario less safe and affordable for all.
