It is not a good idea to consolidate the 36 conservation authorities to just seven. This will remove representatives who have local knowledge of their watershed and have rapport within their communities. Without the local knowledge, developmental decisions will not be tailored to each area. If the representatives are not members of the community, there will be disconnect and mistrust between the community and the government.
