I do not personally believe this will be a good change, local staff that know the areas they’re working with the best should keep their jobs instead of changing the number of regions and staff working them. Making all the regions bigger makes every worker have a bigger responsibility and increased amount of travel time, I think that permits would take even longer to be handed out, and if they are not then they will be handed out with less knowledge or care for the environment they are in. The best solution I think would be a more standardized system for handing out your permits/what has to be done in said permit, but there’s a reason why it takes a while to ensure if it’s safe to build, and I would rather it be done good and right the first time, don’t ruin the environment and try and fix it by tearing it up more.
