As a homeowner in Ontario who has dealt with flooding first-hand, the intention and risks attached to this bill are ludicrous. Reducing oversight of and removing expertise on environmental risk within government is nonsensical and dangerous. The Ford government loves to say they're cutting red tape and creating efficiencies, as we've seen with Ontario Place and Exhibition Place, but numerous articles and studies and reviews have uncovered the gross negligence of this government. Economies and cities run on more than money, and we need our green spaces for balanced living. We also need to protect against the real risks of flooding in our particular environment. Giving people less of a say over how their water and land is used, and focusing on sales/deals that just destroy our green space, is not innovative or edgy. It's deeply short-sighted and irresponsible, and will put us all at risk. I DID NOT vote for this government and I DID NOT vote for this.
