As a Master Gardener and a person with a BA in Environmental Studies I am appalled at the trend in the government to minimize anything to do with the environment. We are in an environmental crisis. Our bug populations worldwide are in grave decline, invasive species are destroying native habitat and Canada is being hit hard by climate change. What we need is more environmental stewardship, not less. The idea to merge the conservation authorities is ludicrous. Each conservation authority works for that particular ecotone, you can't lump all of them together and think that it will be as effective. In a time when we should be spending more on protecting the environment and thus our futures, we are just cost cutting. Stop the madness. Put our environment first.
