The boundaries appear drawn mainly based on development rather than conservation. I am particularly concerned that the vast majority of the province is covered by the Huron-Superior area, which frankly appears to simply focus on Huron. Lakehead district needs to be maintained. The watershed is different, the area is vast, and stuffing it in as an afterthought will mean most of the land will be managed from Southern Ontario. If Ontario is to have any credibility in administering the North, it needs to recognize the area's importance. Use the talent and skills of the district by keeping Lakehead as a (larger) region. Ontario can not expect the needs of the North to be the same. Protect the watershed and actual wilderness in a reasonable way, using a well established and well functioning conservation authority which already plays an important role in supporting healthy development of communities, resources, and large watersheds. Please, keep Lakehead as a separate region; it is only sensible.
