I serve on our local Municipal Committee of Adjustment (COA). The COA often has interaction with the local Conservation Authority (CA).
The local CA has very good people on the ground and provides valued input when lot severances are sought.
Ontario is very large with many terrain types and climate zones. Combining Conservation Authorities will result in employees having to travel extreme distances and they will not have familiarity with the highly diverse areas. Condensing to fewer authorities will result in reduced quality of service.
The present setup works well in this community and doesn't need to be disrupted.
As we engineers say, "IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT."
