Locally based decision-making and accountability is important for Conservation! The reason for this amalgamation has not been justified. The HCA is one of he Hamilton City Departments with a positive track record of responsiveness and success. It is comprised of passionate individuals who live near the trails they maintain. The creation of less localised authorities would only make responses to local issues worse. It is yet another cut back affecting our quality of life and threatening our natural heritage. Dundas already knows what it's like to be amalgamated and then left behind with empty promises. Do not let this happen again. I encourage you to come here and visit our peak and trails yourself before you make this empty decision. This will not make anything about conservation easier or better. Cities and services who are amalgamated have a history of being neglected, just ask Scarborough or Etobicoke where Ford is from. Have some common sense.
