I strongly oppose the proposed consolidation of Conservation Authorities. The current boundaries were established in response to Hurricane Hazel which caused widespread inundation of low lying lands in most of southern Ontario. Since that time a lot of improvements to water management and storage had been done to protect threatened lands, infrastructure, and the people living there. A lot of local knowledge has been accumulated over the years and should not be lost as we face a future that will only pose more threats to our safety as global warming rages on.
