Subject: Comments om ERO Posting #025-1257
I have concerns regarding the proposal to amalgamation of conservation authorities to align with provincial priorities.
We rely on our local Sault Ste Marie Region Conservation Authority (SSMRCA)to manage flood control infrastructure and maintain conservation land that support safe and sustainable recreational use.
The Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club partners with SSMRCA to manage the lands for public access and trail recreation. They have community partnerships that have been built over decades. They also know the
local priorities and needs. Centralizing will take away local representation and local control. How can services be delivered faster if they are centralized??
We love our local recreational areas managed by the SSMRCA.
