Integrating 36 conservation areas into 7 will affect the governance within each of the 36 areas because managing a much larger region will tend to neglect the communities within the 36 areas, creating difficulties in addressing individual area goals and it will create difficult financial management and distribution of capital to the base 36 areas or regions.
The integration will create void areas wherein individual goals or projects of the 36 areas will be neglected or even underfunded. The entire idea of integration should be rethought before implementation.
Why not consider creation within Ontario of conservation regions wherein conservation authorities do not currently exist, such as in South Central Ontario?
