I think this is a very bad idea. Who knows more about their environment than the people who live there, all day and every day? The RRCA does amazing work, and for it to be absorbed into a new organization, whose management team aren’t aware of the delicate environmental balances that the RRCA deals with everyday, is foolish.

What specifically concerns Doug Ford and his party? The statement that “ These proposed improvements to the conservation authority system would reduce duplicative administrative costs, free-up resources for frontline conservation, and better align conservation authorities’ services with provincial priorities on housing, the economy, infrastructure and climate resilience.” was obviously written by AI. What’s your real proof that bigger is better? I live in the ‘City’ of Ottawa, and amalgamation has proven to be a boondoggle. We are now facing a transit bill that is approaching $1 billion. Bigger is not better.

I urge you to reconsider this proposal. It will not make anything better.
