I am very concerned with the province's plan to amalgamate Conservation Authorities, especially in view of the lack of the authorities' involvement with this change. The Conservation Authorities are the experts in their fields.
I am worried about the loss of local decision making and the diminishment of municipal input. This means that the local funding of the conservation areas does not coincide with the power of the local community.
I see no gains in this plan, and I fear many negative consequences.
