For more than 70 years, the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority has protected our watershed and supported our communities. A proposed provincial consolidation risks weakening local decision-making, increasing costs, and reducing responsiveness in Northwestern Ontario.
I stand with LRCA in calling for a stand-alone Northwestern Ontario Regional Conservation Authority, so local voices, priorities, and partnerships remain front and centre. This one region is larger than all of the rest of the province. It should be its own Conservation Authority.
Keep the north in charge of the north.
