Dear Mr. Ford,

I am extremely disappointed in your government’s efforts to weaken the powers of the Conservation Authorities through legislation like Bill 23.

This would pose increased hazards in not protecting against flooding and erosion, undercutting the oversight over water and wetlands, prioritizing development over environmental protection. You are pushing political motivation and decision-making in the face of local governments and communities losing their autonomy, and you’re listening to wealthy developers over the voices of the people who elected you.

Once the inevitable damage is done, it can’t be undone. Please stop this reckless decision before it goes any further.
