There is absolutely no reason to propose changing the boundaries of conservation authorities to amalgamate them together for "efficiency" before FUNDING conservation authorities! A department already so stripped of powers, funding and the most basic needs doesn't need top-down, sweaty-handed management by powers that have no regional knowledge of the impacts of their decisions.
If the provincial government is going to suggest this and carry it on, then what is this government even good for if it can barely manage the lands and not put us in billions of dollars of new debt for developments no one wants. This amalgamation may actually hurt people when planning happens completely devoid of any on the ground knowledge.
Smarten up.
