Bigger is not better.
Consolidation of 36 Conservation Authorities into 7 will fragment their effectiveness.
I cannot visualize how watershed control in the Timmins or Saulte St. Marie has any benefit or even much of a connection with the watershed and flood control in North Bay. These are very large and diverse areas. Who gets the priority?
To me, this is just another means by the Ontario Government of taking away safety controls long established by the Conservation Authorities in order to negate conservation planning for the sake of building anywhere and everywhere. Even the Green Belt.
I'm not in favor.
