These changes are not okay. Conservation Authorities play a vital role in community planning. They ensure that development happens where its not subject to environmental extremes keeping people's homes and property safe and insurance costs down. They oversee watershed management, which again, keeps people safe from extreme water events while also keeping our publicly accessible waterways clean and our drinking water potable. The CAs have direct relationships with the local governments that they serve. Whatever saving you think you will be making by stream lining management to cover a bigger area, you will be loosing in the functional ability of smaller organizations to be able to tap into local knowledge, concerns and relationships. This is not only a bad environmental decision, it's a bad business decision.
