I agree with HamiltonCA’s submission to the ERO. And as a resident within Halton Conservation Authority, I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. In addition I have concern over the potential for increased flood risks, and inferior local environmental protections which depend on experieced local representation and awareness.
While I support efforts to leverage shared services and cost where appropriate it appears that there is little consideration or clarity on the issues mentioned above and the potential for reduced local control over development, and the download of costs to municipalities and taxpayers.
