We work in the field where we are in direct contact with local conservation authorities being very concerned about the amalgamation of CA's knowing that each area is very different in topography, and knowledge or local CA's is important. Many people have different experiences and ways to provide efficient services that answer to our eastern Ontario environment. That type of experience can be very specific to this part of the province. Major concerns that every corner of the province will become a one type direction where the most rural part of the province will be considered to follow the same requirements from urban, or great lakes having very different species and type of soils where one size fits all would be detremental to our area. The Different CA's have been given lands by private owners with confidence they would remain with the same land use, not clear cut for development or farming, but to stay natural protected forest. Who would stay owner's and protect these properties. Would this open the lands for future development? Eastern Ontario will getting to be dangerously close to have not enough forest coverage to keep balance of our ecosystems.
I hope that we can still work closely with the SNCA in our area with the same confidence that services and professionalism as we have in the past.
