The Ontario Greenbelt is a valuable asset for the province and its residents both in its use for tourism and recreation and for the biodiversity that it contains. Tourism and protecting the areas that draw on tourists worldwide must remain an important part of Ontario's plan now and for the future. This makes the Greenbelt an asset that is far more valuable as a source of tourism than any other type of use. Areas such as the Greenbelt have also been identified as important environmental zones because of their biodiversity and we need to promote and protect such areas for generations to follow. This weakening of protection to promote any additional development must not occur and we owe this to our children and generations of future children to come.
