I am alarmed at some of the proposed changes the Planning Act in Bill 66. I do not want Bill 66 to remove the protection of the Planning Act and Provincial Policy Statements for significant built heritage resources and significant cultural landscapes anywhere in the province.
I believe the Bill should be thrown out and serves no place in our cultural landscape. We have such beautiful heritage components in our province. It is important to consider any proposed development with the utmost scrutiny as how it impacts or benefits the wider community and all its complex layers. There is not much point in attracting businesses or industrial development if their employees are not attracted to live in such a disconnected, soul-less place.
