As a member of ACO St Thomas-Elgin, I am vehemently opposed to the changes suggested in Bill 66 as it will endanger the built heritage of our province. Bill 66 would remove the protection of the Planning Act and Provincial Policy Statements for significant built heritage resources and significant cultural landscapes anywhere in the province. We desperately need those protections in place to see that these spaces are preserved, revived, and restored as an integral part of our province’s history.
