Ontario is already "open for business" - a ridiculous catchphrase thrown about by Premier Ford to attract certain voters. If a business cannot be run without jeopardizing the environment (particularly the availability of clean, safe water), encroaching on green space, reducing the livability of the proposed location for people and wildlife, then it is not a business I want in Ontario.
It should not be just about profit for the proposed owners, or tax revenue for the current government, it should be about the long-term effects on future generations. Once land and water are ruined, they are gone forever.
Ontario is already too open for the wrong business, e.g. the draining of our water by Nestle to create a completely unnecessary product - bottled water - for a pittance of a charge should be stopped immediately.
