Thank-you for this opportunity to comment on the proposed amendments to the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe.

I am concerned that some of the proposed changes to this legislation are short sighted and focused more on current market demands and not long term sustainability. For example, further to Policy 1.2, I recommend that current references to 'a clean and healthy environment' and 'social equity' remain within the document to demonstrate their importance in meeting current and future needs of people (and other living creatures).

This is also why I am concerned with the proposal to lower minimum intensification targets as outlined in Policies 2.2.2.1 and 2.2.7.2. and the resulting impact that this may have on the rate of new land being required for urban purposes. To accommodate our growing population, higher densities then what we have become accustomed to will be necessary to protect our remaining natural heritage areas and agricultural lands, both of which are vital to our resiliency, prosperity and the well being of our planet.
