I am happy to hear that the Ontario government is reviewing the Endangered Species Act. This is a valuable opportunity to align legislation with advances in our scientific understanding of species at risk and the ecosystems they inhabit. We have a moral obligation to conserve and protect aspects of the environment affected by anthropogenic activity; however, increasingly apparent is the societal implications of environmental degradation and the loss of species.

I urge the Ontario government to prioritize environmental conservation and the protection of our species. To do this, we need to strengthen our regulations and increase our standards to appropriately reflect and enforce our values.
