This act needs to updated. It is far too easy for developers to skirt around the issues and get away with assulting our environment. Is it not time that we acknowledge that the ‘consequence’ of benefit permits (which do not offset the destruction caused by mass developments) does not suffice and does not actually benefit our species at risk in any real way?
Habitat loss is the leading factor in species endangerment and extinction. We need to stop pretending that we are doing our duty in protecting them, and actually make laws that protect those things on earth without a voice.
