These changes are a huge step backwards. Sacrificing the health of our planet in exchange for more development dollars. Our government should be ashamed. I'm embarrassed, to be an Ontarian and a Canadian. We cannot allow (let alone encourage!) more species to become extinct, and that is exactly what will happen if we allow these changes to take effect.
Canada is already experiencing climate change faster than the rest of the world. This isn't science fiction; it's happening now and will not just affect our grandchildren. It will affect our children and it will affect us. This is happening in OUR lifetime, and we have to make radical changes to how we live if we want to continue. We cannot carry on the way we have been - destroying natural habitat, building over nature, disrupting native species and driving them to extinction.
I beg you to rethink. This is a disaster in the making.
