I think the changes that the provincial government are proposing are unacceptable, including the fact that habitat of species at risk will no longer be guaranteed protection.
In Ontario, almost all of our native turtle species are endangered and some are on the brink of extinction. Small groups are making big efforts to help these animals survive when there is already serious habitat loss and segmentation. If you remove the protection of their limited spaces, we can all anticipate an Ontario without turtles (amongst many other species).
