1. ensures better alignment between the level of assessment and level of environmental risk associated with a project;
2. eliminates duplication between environmental assessment and other planning and approvals processes;
3. finds efficiencies in the environmental assessment process and related planning and approvals processes to shorten the timelines from start to finish: and
4. goes digital by permitting online submissions
The above are excellent goals. However, I think Ontario should track to see how many more/fewer people and other animals (ex. bees) are dying from these changes. If more people and other animals die from these changes, it will be a good sign Ontario needs to backtrack with their changes.
