As a resident of a North York neighborhood who falls victims to the OMB's biased decision to allow developers to build monster SINGLE-FAMILY homes which ultimately led to absurdly inflated price of housing, creating local traffic and sewage issues, a degradation of local road conditions.
The formerly OMB and the current LPAT are made up of decision makers are making far-reaching and irreversible community and municipal planning decisions and yet they are APPOINTED by the government, not ELECTED by the community members who will be living with the consequences. Bill 108 will seek to give even more power to LPAT and will further dwarf the voice of local community and residents.
Lack of transparency, the overall lack of respect from the OMB/LPAT on recommendations put forth by the city planning staff and local residents are the reasons I oppose to Bill 108.
