The additional work required under the proposed changes to expansion or creation of Municipal Water Systems in small rural municipalities will place additional financial burdens on the Municipality.
The need for the creation of new municipal wells or the expansion of an existing well would come from proposed new development which should be funded by developers and not by the Municipality, at the cost of the tax payers for private development.
Provincial funding should be provided for any changes to the Source Water Protection Plans and updating municipal assessment reports as a result of proposed development.
