Conservation authorities have agreements with other federal agencies regarding drain maintenance. How will that be affected by the proposed changes? They should not be. The fisheries act and consideration for the habitat that these watercourses provide requires priority to drain maintenance activities or development. The acts you wish to consolidate are multi disciplinary and can not be considered on the core mandate for conservation authorities alone especially when Ontario ministries responsible have been cut and no longer have the means to regulate or monitor
