I support the extension to the Section 55 ESA Regulation. I also support the formation of a multi stakeholder panel to provide input on a workable solution for the endangered species act. It is extremely important to find a solution to the ESA that that does not cause catastrophic wood supply reductions, mill closures, contractors out of business, stranded First Nation investments in the forestry economy, and severe socio-economic and community impacts due to the loss of sustainable employment. Time needs to be spent on a comprehensive socio-economic impact assessment of these new regulations as well as time spent developing clear scientific studies on the regulations and how they relate to species recovery. A period of 5 years is more reasonable to work effectively on the very complex issues associated with forestry management. The impact of the current ESA regulation would mean job loss to my self, my family and the 4 other direct families we employ. As well as the indirect jobs we support with our business supplies purchases. I urge you to take the time to get this right
