I was quite disappointed to see the extesnion of cottages leases being proposed once again for Rondeau Provincial Park. This activity has been disrupting and threatening the ecological integrity of the rare shoreline communities along Lake Erie for far too long. In addition, the current leaseholders footprints on Rondeau already extend far beyond their current lease properties and nothing is seemingly being done to mitigate or control this unauthorized use by lease holders beyond their plots and out into the shoreline area.
Unfortunately, another lease extension will only serve to allow the curent cottage activities to continue unabated as the shoreline ecosystem slowly suffers the consequences.
With Ontario Parks record of past extensions you might as well propose the next extension for 2038 and beyond now.
