The sawmill industry for Ignace Ontario is very important to the town and most people's way of life's. Ignace saw mill employ's nearly 50 people. As a whole it may not sound like a lot but if there were a closure due to no extension, it would affect many families that rely on this income to survive. You may think " well just relocate", if it were that easy, maybe many people will be able to , but most will not be able to. They would be unable to sell their homes , so possibly abandonment. People who bought homes or just started to buy one, would possibly need to go bankrupt with no other income coming in. School's would be affected if people had to move there may be no high school located here anymore. That would have a serious impact on the kid's going to these schools. Some people in town have been having a rough time with finding a good job, that is stable and giving 80 hours every 2 weeks. For those people it's a means to stability. Removing that stability would impact numerous people and due to our location driving 1-2.5 hours to work daily is not a very safe option. If a significant other works for the forestry industry, and it closes due to a decision, the other now has a lot more responsibility to the family which can become stressful and could cause a breakdown. Just like every decision, proper understanding on the impact it has to the surrounding population is very important. Always remember, a Decision is like a pebble, and the pond being life. Once you throw the pebble into that pond, the ripple's outward affect everything around it in all directions.
