A healthy ecosystem is crucial not only for wildlife, but for our own survival. I believe we need to prioritize the recovery of at-risk species over the demands of developers, no exceptions. We need legislation that makes it harder — not easier — for habitat to be destroyed. This isn't just good for the environment, it's important for the future of sustainable development as well. Businesses of the future will need healthy, thriving ecosystems in which to function. We need to ensure that habitats are protected and restored to facilitate species recovery, instead of focusing solely on mitigating the adverse impacts of harmful activities. A healthy, thriving Ontario includes wildlife and ecosystems that are healthy and thriving as well.
