I am pleading with the MOECC to halt the Otter Creek Wind Farm. In light of the wells going bad in the North Kent Wind Farm 1 area, surely someone in the ministry must realize that it is not wise to continue one minute more with the application from Otter Creek Wind Farm. Stop the potential loss of water supply before one more family has to lose their investment and their peace of mind and their quality of life. While all levels of government in Canada have a role and responsibility in the protection and sustainable use of groundwater, water management and its regulation it is a provincial jurisdiction and the provincial government owes it to the residents of Ontario to step forward and protect us!!!!! What on earth reason was the decision made to place the largest turbines across the northern boundary of a town of 10,000 people. All of this agony for 12 turbines. Think about it - 12 turbines - just forget the whole idea and leave us and the neighbours of this fine community alone. You must be aware of the underground water resources being in great jeopardy in our area and I feel there is a violation under The Ontario Clean Water Act that is to protect our source water. From the Act: A “drinking water threat” means an activity or condition that adversely affects or has the potential to adversely affect the quality or quantity of any water that is or may be used as a source of drinking water. I am imploring you, by the power of your position in the protection of the Ontario citizens, to halt the projects before irreparable damage in done. In your role, please realize you have a sworn obligation to provide a level of human health and ecosystem protection to the citizens you are paid to protect. I call upon you to do what is right and put any bribery and collusion that has entangled provincial government and big energy companies aside and protect my family.
