There are approximately 75 municipalities in Ontario that do not meet the requirement of 1000 people. There needs to be a system in place where the residents of these small municipalities can bring their batteries and/or EEE.
Under the current program, our municipality (population 663) is a registered collector under the WEEE program and we have been successful under this program.
The proposal needs to include what options smaller municipalities will have to divert the EEE.
