I understand that Ontario wants to exempt the logging industry from Ontario’s Endangered Species at Risk Act until at least 2020.
If these exemptions are approved, the already threatened caribou is at risk of losing the vast expanses of forest they need to survive.
It is unacceptable to exempt the logging industry from rules that protect the caribou and the boreal forest. It is time the government started putting the needs of our environment before the greed of industries. Once this critical habitat is lost, it's gone forever, and along with it, the caribou's chance for survival.
Please, do the right thing, protect the boreal forest.
