The Progressive Conservative Government claims to listen to the people and is for the people. Previously I was proud to live in an Ontario where, so many of the policies that have benefitted my family, were the result of the Progressive Conservative initiates - it did listen to what people said they needed to live healthy, safe and prosperous lives. My belief in this has now changed. The proposed changes to the LPAT are the result of clearly not listening to the average guy like myself - afterall it took years of political pressure to finally change the OMB into the LPAT which insisted that there be a consultation process with all parties in an application. The proposed time lines leave insufficient time for any meaningful consultation. The criteria is now very narrow in regards to how a decision is made in a dispute. The appointed decision makers no longer are accountable to the directly affected parties.
