I am in opposition to the section of this bill that refers to making decisions without considering prior actions taken in applications of appeal. I am specifically concerned about an appeal by the owner of a property in Bolton wanting to construct an asphalt plant there. The whole community was against the application and the Caledon council rejected it. The owner was told a decision will not be made until after Bill 108 has passed. Based on the bill, no consideration will be made of the opposition to it.
If the bill is not amended to correct this issue, the community will be obliged to sue the government.
