Development charges mean that someone other than residents pay their fair share... you cannot rely on
residents to continue to have property tax increases to support all the new homes being developed in their towns...Outside of Toronto the property tax increases have continued and have an added reserve percentage of 1% in our case where the town believes inflation plus 1% for their "reserves" is justified
to allow them to do what they want... Then you want to remove development charges.. WHO will pay more residents... this will lead to people outside Tor. to have to stop buying anything other than necessities because there's no limit to what councils/Mayors can do to make up for your changes...so
how is this really going to benefit anyone other than Developers/Builders...?? Who are in the minority
in comparison to property tax payers....
